GIDEON 300 Kingdom Accountability Covenant

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” Psalm 133:1

In the book of Judges chapters 6-8, the Bible tells us one of its most fascinating stories. The Israelites were being oppressed by one of its many neighboring foes, the Midianites. God called Gideon to lead the charge against the Midianites, but he didn’t see himself as qualified to do this job. However, after his encounter with God, his potential army of 32,000 was stripped to 300, but he won with the Help of (the Holy Spirit) God.

“Gideon 300” is a parachurch ministry led by the Holy Spirit through Spirit-filled “seasoned men” who are committed to God, family, and fellow kingdom brothers for the purpose of restoring spiritual kingdom order to cities. We are seeking to “UNITE 300” (bring into covenant) godly men of all Christian denominations, non-denominations, inter-denominations, ethnicities, and all political persuasion among Christians. The goal is to establish a Christ-Centered Kingdom Culture through transparency and functional relationships. God’s “true church” (called out ones) is an organism (living breathing) that’s controlled by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We will not establish a hierarchy—but we will serve our brothers in the spirit of unity and humility in Christ. The scriptures (Bible) will be our primary governing authority. “All scriptures are given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The kingdom of God within us must become a visible reality so that the world can see a pure witness of Christ among us. “By this shall all men know that you are my disciple, if you have love one for another” (John 13:35). Men are called by God to be the priest in the home and the primary spiritual stabilization force in their community. The kingdom of God is first spiritual, then relational. Without accountability—it is impossible to establish kingdom relationships. The lack of kingdom leadership (relationship) among men is perhaps the greatest weakness in our society today. Currently within the body of Christ, most Christians are functioning just like the Israelites were during the time of the Judges. There’s no unity (COVENANT) among us—everyone is doing what pleases them. “During the Judges there was no king in Israel, so every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 17:6)

In establishing relationships, the following 5 principles will be our focus as we seek the Holy Spirit for a true Brotherhood Movement in our city:

A. Communicate regularly with a covenant partner.

B. Attend at least 1 Prayer and Fellowship Gathering held weekly or monthly, hosted by one of our covenant groups. Which may be your local church group.

C. Attend our mass gathering to be held three times annually for a time of building relationships, activities, and fellowship.

D. Actively seek to invite other men to attend our gatherings.

E. Must be willing to resolve all conflicts (Conflict resolution) according to Matthew 18:15-17.

Unity is not a Christian suggestion but a biblical mandate by Christ!

John 17:21 "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also

may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me."

Ephesians 4:13 “Till we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son,

unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the  stature of the fulness of Christ.”

Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 12:10 “Be kindly affectioned one  to another with brotherly love; in honour

preferring one another.”

Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

As Gideon men we acknowledge the destructive legacy of racial prejudice, the divisions of Christian

denominationalism, and the tensions of political partisanship which have hindered our ability to walk in unity as

followers of Christ. They have stood as barriers to the full expression of God’s Kingdom among us. Through the power

of the Holy Spirit, we are committed to a true brotherhood that reflects the Kingdom of God. We will move forward

with courage, humility, and unwavering faith, confident that God will guide this movement to bring transformation to

cities, nations, and the world, all for His glory.

Edward Lee Johnson Sr.: “The primary unifying force among Christ’s followers on Earth today is the Holy Spirit. Without Him, competing interest of fleshly (selfish) desires will keep us at odds with one another.”

To join our fellowship, you simply need to network with one of our small groups in your area. If you know Christ—your witness of Him will be a positive influence upon others. If you don’t know Christ, we will introduce you to our Savior and assist you in becoming one of His disciples. The kingdom has need of you! If you have an active men’s fellowship group at your local church, or a para-church group and you would like to partner with other men’s groups, please contact us at the email address listed on the rear of this flier. We are believing God for a strong network of men working in “UNITY” all across the Charleston Tri-County region so that we might inspire the nation.

A commitment to “Covenant” is to leave a spiritual legacy (example of brotherhood) for our current and next generation of Kingdom Believers in our city. As partisan politics seems to be unraveling before our eyes, a true commitment to Christ should keep us together. “So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the Lord even require it at the hand of David’s enemies. And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.” (1 Samuel 20:16-17)

Our families, communities, nation, and our world would be better served when godly men provide the spiritual covering (covenant) that’s needed to gain God’s favor. Jesus and the Father is one. He prayed for His disciples to be one. And the disciples understood that they were one body in Christ. It baffling to think about what our nation is going to look like two decades from now if Christians brothers do not chart the course (model kingdom behavior) in our own local communities for the next generation.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10). Christ triumph over religious sectarianism, racial strife, and partisan politics, so can we. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).
