The “Greater Charleston Assembly” Vision Casting
The vision and purpose of the GCA is to become a catalyst for Christians to begin functioning as a unit (members of Christ body) and not independently of one another. This passage in Matthew 18:15-17 was established by Christ so that there would be accountability among fellow believers in the body of Christ. Without integrity, transparency and accountability, unity would be impossible in any city.
Our Vision: Establishing A Unified Kingdom of God
According to Christ, His kingdom is not of this world. “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence” (John 18:36). That said, if we are to witness “unity” in our city among Christians, it must be established upon Christ and the gospel alone. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16.
Our Mission: The Greater Charleston Assembly seeks to usher unity into the Tri-County area by following God’s Word.
The final authority for the believer in Christ is God’s Word, not secular government. We obey
government when it’s not repugnant to our faith. According to Acts 2:40-44 “And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation. Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common.”
